Introduction
Hello everyone! Here’s an introduction to what this project is about, hoping to answer some questions and explain things for those curious about it and its development.
An Introduction
HOMESICKNESS is my main passion project and has been for a while now. I’ve wanted to create a game that focuses on psychological horror and nostalgia, while using point-and-click gameplay that I enjoy. My goal with this project is to capture the feel of the 2000s media I grew up with—things I remember in a foggy way. I’m also adding weirdcore themes and old internet media, all while exploring the many different styles of the 2000s and recreating the feeling of that time.
Growing up, I consumed a lot of early internet media that I remember from my childhood—much of it weird and abstract. I also have foggy memories of places I once visited and things I can’t fully recall. This game is meant to capture those feelings, those forgotten memories, and the sense of longing for the past. My intention is to embrace the nostalgic aesthetics of the 2000s, like old-school phone designs, colorful handheld devices, birthday parties, and strange photo editing styles.
I’ve been slowly sharing this game on places like Game Jolt and YouTube, building up enough content to show on itch.io, which will be the main site for the game. The price is currently set at $9.99.
Start of Development
I started working on this project in 2022, beginning with a small proof of concept. Since then, I’ve been working on it slowly, posting development clips and updates over the past few months. Many of these clips are still up on YouTube—click here to check them out!
Right now, most of the game is ready, except for the level design and some final polishing. Since it’s mainly just me working on it, I plan to release the game sometime before May of next year. It’s a big project, so it will take some time, and I’ll be taking breaks when needed. But development has been steady for a while now.
The story is fully planned out, with only small improvements needed to make it even better. You can read the full description on the game’s page.
I’m really excited to release this project! There’s already a lot of content to check out, so if you want to see more gameplay clips and updates, I’ve been posting them on YouTube for the past few months. You can check out the HOMESICKNESS YouTube playlist for more.
If you have any questions, leave them down below and I’ll answer them! I’m excited about this page release, and I hope it helps get more people interested in the project. There’s still more to show, and I’ll be sharing new updates soon. It is primarily me developing this game, with a small group of people providing feedback and playtesting assistance. So bear with me.
More news soon!

Let's go ! The page is finally here
Thank you for checking it out!
i was waiting for it since the trailer on the fnaf live. i hope that the fact that the game page was available only now won't affect too much the game. honestly after the fnaf live, i had a lot ot trouble finding the game or you.
I hope it won’t either. That event was fairly messy overall, and had made me decide on making the itch.io page public sometime later instead. I aim to expand this game’s reach so it reaches other people. So thank you.
If I can help in anything I would gladly :) I'm also french so if one day you want to translate your game. I'm very amateur but I could still try
Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind. Right now, the game is launching in English only, as it’s difficult to code in other languages and would take a lot of extra work and time. But maybe later on, for a future Steam release if I get that far, other languages could be added. Spanish would likely be the first to include.
